Sergey Vorobiev is the president and one of the founders of Ward Howell, the leading executive search and development consulting company in Russia and the CIS. Sergey specializes in CEO recruitment and change management via designation of team members responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategic development or its key elements, including the formation of entire executive management teams and complex transnational searches. For many years, he has served as an advisor to boards of directors on matters related to strategic planning, organizational structure, management compensation and incentives, selection and placement of senior executives, and developing a comprehensive consulting approach to personnel management.

Since beginning his career in Executive Search in 1993, Sergey has worked with most sectors of the economy, leading and start-up international and Russian companies, specializing in energy, investment banking and professional services, and heavy industry. He is currently responsible for work with state and public institutions.

Sergey assisted the government of the Russian Federation in developing a strategy for economic and social development, in the search for and development of experts and managers to oversee market reform and to create necessary infrastructure. He has extensive work experience with Russian and international state and non-profit organizations.

In 1998, Sergey was listed in The Global 200 Executive Recruiters as one of the top 200 senior management recruiters in the world. He serves on the board of directors for a series of leading Russian companies, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Russian Economic School Endowment Fund, of the Expert Council for the Russian Federation, of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Strategic Initiative (ASI), of the Russian Federation Presidential Council on the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, and since 2002 has been a member of the Young President Organization (an international organization of business leaders), for which he co-founded the Russian branch.

Sergey was born and lived in Saint Petersburg until moving to Moscow in 1993. He studied physics and management. Sergey’s past professional experience includes intensive entrepreneurial and managerial work as well as scientific research.

Sergey is married, with two sons.

Hobbies: traveling with his wife, fishing, tennis, golf.
